How to Insert Music in Powerpoint 2007 Continuously

Loop an audio clip to play across slides in PowerPoint 2007 for Windows. Using this option, you can span music or any other sound across multiple slides.

Save, Copy Audio Files to Folder, and Proceed

As far as possible, work with a presentation that has been saved at least once. Then, copy any sound or music file you want to loop to the same folder as the presentation as you can see in Figure 1, below.

Follow these steps to loop music or any audio file across slides in PowerPoint 2007 for Windows:

1. Navigate to the slide where you want the sound to begin playing, which is usually the first slide of the presentation. On the Insert tab of the Ribbon, choose the Sound | Sound from Files menu option, as shown in Figure 2, below.

2. Doing so opens the Insert Sound dialog box as shown in Figure 3, below. Locate the sound file you want to play, and click the OK button.

3. This action will insert the sound in the slide. Figure 4, below, shows the inserted audio icon that you'll probably find right in the center of the slide. At the same time, PowerPoint brings up a message window asking how you want the sound to start in the slideshow. You can choose the When Clicked option, but Automatically works best. So, go ahead and select Automatically.

4. Select the audio icon to activate the Sound Tools Options tab on the Ribbon, as shown in Figure 5, below.

Contextual Tabs

6. The Sound Tools Option tab is a contextual tab. Contextual tabs are special tabs in the Ribbon that are not visible all the time. They only make an appearance when you are working with a particular slide object which can be edited using special options.
5. In the Sound Options group, click to open the Play Sound list, and choose the Play across Slides option from the resultant drop-down list, as shown in Figure 6, below.

6. Select the Loop Until Stopped option on the Sound Options group as shown in Figure 7, below.

7. In all versions of PowerPoint, you might see an audio icon on the slide where you inserted the sound. If you don't like the icon on the slide, just drag it to anywhere off the slide, and your sound shall still play fine.
8. Save your presentation often.
