Black Ops 2 Nuketown Zombies How to Open Bunker

I know alot of people are going to disagree with this and that's okay you're all entitled to your opinion. Tldr at bottom for my list of points

Keep in mind I'm going off my memory of the map and I havent played it since bo3 came out Heres what I believe nuketown z did right:

• map design, although obviously modeled off the mp map, was altered to flow decently gameplay-wise while also providing some areas of challenge.

• while not incredibly important to the story, storyline fans can still enjoy the round based audio queues until the eventual zombie eye color change at rd 25 and of course marlton quotes in the bunker

• to keep the map from being completely bare bones, they tried switching things up with the perks (and pap)to make them more randomized in location and in their time of coming down to the map. To me this provides a slight challenge and forces the player to rely on skill and strategy instead of the 4 basic perks being the saving grace all the time. Furthering this point, in solo quick revive would always drop round one which is a good thing to have in there.

• easy to get set up for the rest of your game. All you need is to spin for your weapon of choice or buy it off the wall if you so choose then pack a punch as soon as it drops from the sky. No Easter egg steps required, only about 4 doors in total to open the whole map, easy stuff.

• really cool map setting. To me this is what a zombie map should look like.

• this kind of goes along with map design, but good training areas on both sides of the map as well as a camping area if I remember correctly (I'm honestly not sure though I never camp as my strategy) with the right set up you can get to pretty decent rounds. Highest I got on there was 35 which in bo2 times was really good for me.

• not plagued with so many irritating mini bosses or heavy bosses.

Now I would like to expand on things nuketown zombies could have improved on

• I think I speak for the whole community on this one, not taking the perfect opportunity and exploring the underground bunker. We can all agree this would have made ppl more interested in the map

• no unique mini boss. This butts heads with the last good point I made, but hear me out. It needs an easy special round. No dogs though, because it's so overused and in my opinion doesn't fit the map. What it needs is a select few zombies that got hit with way too much nuclear radiation and had some creepy mutations. They dont have to be too difficult, but just have them creep you out. The way they are unique gameplay wise would be something like you need to keep your distance because of the overwhelming amount of radiation or they move super fast or very unpredictably or something like that. Maybe even a small trail of dripping radiation that hurts you if you end up walking through it. Just an idea

• can take incredibly long times for jug or pap to spawn and can be in ridiculous areas. While I do appreciate the challenge it gives, you should not have to wait until the 20's for it to drop. Inside the garage spawn was by far the most ridiculous thing I had ever seen in a map. Make all the possible locations easier to get to

• lack of side easter eggs and no main Easter egg. Now I'm not going for a full blown main Easter egg like normal, I just mean a simpler Easter egg that gives people an easy goal to achieve, maybe watch a cutscene, and keep playing like normal. How this would fit in the story idk but that isnt my problem is it? And side Easter eggs, nothing that ppl feel obligated to do each game but things like matroska dolls on ascension. Something quick and small that storyline ppl love and normal ppl can get a kick out of too

• the powerup door behind the yellow house always confused tf out of me and I think that thing overall could be improved

• no wonder weapon. The jet gun was set to appear but didnt if I remember correctly. I never actually used the jet gun but it sounds pretty bad so I guess it's ok to not have it in. However I do feel like a ww is necessary because the z health does get v high later on and a bo2 pap'd gun eventually shoots marshmallows compared to the health.

• not enough storyline stuff. I think what they did with the audio queues and stuff is great, however there is really no actual reason for this map to exist. Marlton emerges from the bunker after we die bc we can see the bunker door open yet he is not important to the map at all. Simply put this is the most random ass map to ever exist

• no distinct characters just CDC and CIA

The bad seems to outweigh my list 8 to 7 however a few of these things such as wanting small side ee and distinct characters are kind of personal preference so I still think the good outweighs the bad overall

Nuketown zombies was a good kick back and relax map with nothing overly complicated and chill to a beginning player or a burnt out veteran player. Even I, a hardcore zombs fan, need a break from mandatory weapon making Easter eggs to play a simple game instead. While certainly not the best, it is for sure in my opinion underrated

●------>TLDR <-------● Good things

  • good map for gameplay flow

  • cool storyline audio queues and zombie eye color change at rd 25

  • perk system in map provides a challenge forcing players to rely on skill alone for a while

  • set up for the rest of your game is easy

  • really cool map setting imo. This is how a zombie map should look

  • good areas to train

  • no irritating mini bosses or heavy bosses

Bad things/ things that need tweaking

  • missed opportunity with underground bunker

  • needs a unique mini boss(my idea for the mini boss listed above in the expanded version of this list)

  • can take way too long for jug or pap to spawn in and there are some incredibly awful spawn points for these things

  • not enough side ee's and no main ee (I would like a simpler main ee)

  • powerup door behind yellow house should be improved

  • no wonder weapon

  • needs more storyline importance. This map has very little reason to exist

  • no distinct characters just CDC and CIA
